Michelle Sanders

Director of Programs & Community Engagement

Michelle Sanders is a transformational leader, strategist, and advocate with more than 20 years of experience advancing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, and complex trauma. Guided by her faith and a deep sense of purpose, she leads with conviction—believing that service is not simply work but a calling to restore dignity, expand opportunity, and change lives.

Throughout her career, Michelle has demonstrated excellence across both corporate and nonprofit sectors. During her time in retail leadership with Finish Line, she successfully managed a multi-million-dollar store, leading high-performing teams, driving revenue growth, and maintaining strong operational performance. This foundation sharpened her expertise in leadership, accountability, and results-driven execution—skills she now applies to complex human service systems. She has since redefined what effective outreach and engagement look like by designing and implementing innovative, street-based service models that eliminate traditional barriers to housing access—expanding reach, advancing equity, and delivering measurable, lasting outcomes. Her work is grounded in a clear principle: systems should work for people, not the other way around.

Recognized for her bold vision and disciplined execution, Michelle builds high-performing teams and develops operational frameworks that drive accountability, consistency, and results. She brings a rare blend of frontline credibility and executive-level leadership, enabling her to translate strategy into meaningful impact in complex, high-intensity environments.

A cornerstone of Michelle’s success is her extensive collaboration and trusted relationships across the community. She partners with nonprofit organizations, public agencies, healthcare systems, faith-based institutions, and civic leaders to align resources and implement coordinated strategies that strengthen entire communities—not just individual outcomes.

Through her leadership and consulting work, Michelle continues to shape how systems respond to vulnerable populations—integrating compassion, data-driven decision-making, and cross-sector collaboration to produce sustainable, community-wide impact.

At the core of her work is an unwavering belief: every person deserves dignity, every system should create access, and every community can be transformed when service is led with faith, vision, and purpose.
